☛ Don’t miss the fascinating “Marilyn Intimacy” exhibition in Vienna.
The ephemeral scent of old-time Hollywood glamour will waft through the ballroom & gallery of the Novomatic Forum in Vienna from 22 December 2011 to 26 February 2012. But for all of this scent’s faintness, there is always something that endures longer, something that remains behind. Because people leave their marks-their footprints-on the world.
And it is a truly global star in whose footsteps this exhibition, featuring the collection of Ted Stampfer and Partner, sets out to follow. Marilyn: Intimacy is the title of an exhibition that will be showing private items for the first time in Austria. The memory of this Hollywood star continues to be upheld by her fans. One of them is German collector Ted Stampfer, who has revered the blond bombshell since he was ten years old.
He has since purchased selected items from Monroe’s private estate at a number of high-profile auctions. And with this showing of his collection, he gives the general public a hitherto unseen look at her life.
For several weeks, the Novomatic Forum will be transformed into a memorial shrine of sorts, a sympathetic commemoration of an exceptional star. 2012 will see the 50th anniversary of Monroe’s passing . With this exhibition, the Forum (located adjacent to Vienna’s Naschmarkt) will present itself in a new light and invite visitors to take a sensational journey into a lost world via what has remained as the tangible representation of memories: personal objects from the estate of a global star. From 22 December 2011 until 26 February 2012
